Psychological drama - 'THE COLLECTOR'
'The Collector' sets itself into the psychological drama with an innate focus on the protagonist's inner world rather than action. We see this through Frederick's silent observations and controlled behaviors, paired with minimal dialogue, helping us to establish him as a socially isolated and psychologically troubled individual. The use of prolonged shots allow the audience to not only study his behavior but to gauge his body language helping to create a sense of unease through anticipation rather than outward violence.
